Virgin hair give away is now closed....

Hi Everyone,

The Virgin hair giveaway is now closed! Many thanks to everyone who participated. The response was awesome and we are now tallying the results. We are hoping to get through everything by next week and the winner will be announced then.

Thanks again for your interest and accept my apologies for the recent inactivity on the blog. I have been super duper busy. However, I am striving to change my ways, busy or not, blog posts MUST go up!

Have an awesome weekend!

Love y'all!

  1. Followed your instructions and liked both pages on fb. Hope that's all there was to it. What do I to my hair prior to texlaxing to ensure a healthy hair? Saw an article on a blog talking about pre pooing like a wk prior whats your take on that? Also can I texlax immediately after taking off the low manipulation styling be it weaves or cornrows? THANKS

    1. Same here. I have almost the same question with you. How can one texlax one's hair?

    2. It’s the same thing as relaxing only u deliberately leave the relaxer on your hair for a short time before washing off. I leave it in for 20mins so I DON’T get bone straight hair.

You should try and pre poo on every wash day if u have the spare 30 minutes or so. I am NOT a fan of over night pre pooing so I don’t do that. But I do pre poo with coconut oil for 30mins using heat before I wash and Deep condition.

    3. Thanks for the response Feyi. Ditto everything you said. In addition, another option for texlaxing is to mix your relaxer with oil in order to weaken it so that it doesn't process your hair as straight. Prepooing before relaxing will give you similar results. Basically, the oil creates a barrier between your hair and the relaxer slowing down the process so that it takes longer for the relaxer to straighten your hair.

I don't recommend texlaxing immediately after removing braids or a weave because your scalp will most likely be sensitive from all the pulling and is likely to burn. I usually, wash and condition my hair after taking out braids, then wait a week before texlaxing.
